Introducing Chef Cilantro - Tainday...masala bharey tainday

Assalam-o-alaikum Wa Rehmatullahi Wa Barakatahu,

I spoke with my chef early morning about what today's meal is.  Turns out it's masala bharey tainday (Indian round gourd)  <-- I didn't know that.  Anyways, Chef Cilantro is probably the best one out there, MashaAllah.  Let's just say she's busy.  So keeping up with her...I probably don't want to do this again.  But, oh whatever, I learnt something.  So, lets make this easy, huh....

Peel 20 Tainday. 

You'll need 3 medium sized onions.

In a mortar (dor'ri) add 2 tbsp anaar (pomegranate seeds).  Add a bit water.  Make it personal.  Squish & squash each seed.  *Don't wear an apron.  Where's the fun in that, huh?*

Add chopped onion with the seeds.  Don't make this personal or else they'll aim your eyes.  You wouldn't want that....I didn't want that.

JazakAllah modernization.  This was just faster.

1/2 tbsp red chilli powder & 1/2 tbsp Salt.

1/2 tbsp turmeric powder.  Haldi.  The power of yellow OMG.

Stuff 'em.  Stuff 'em up real good.

6 cloves of garlic mashed.  1 tbsp ginger paste.  In 1/2 cup oil.  And 2 chopped onions. + 1/2 tbsp chilli powder-salt

Add 2 chopped tomatoes.  Heat is medium. 

Health nuts.  Avoid adding more oil. Once the masala is done.

Add the tainday now.  1 glass of water.

Does it look like this?  Good.  Go eat something.

Chef Cilantro picked these from the backyard.  SOOOO good.

Abbu made this for you S.  You know who you are, right?

About 30 minutes.  The masala should be less.  And the tainday cooked through-out.  Add 1 tbsp cracked dry coriander.

Chop 3/4 bunch of cilantro.  Probably 1 cup.

Add 1/2 tbsp gharam masala.  And cook a bit more.  If it looks like this.  Well done.

I think their 20.  Yeah....about 20 of them.  I feel hungry now.  Alhamdulillah. 

By the way.  Chef Cilantro is Ammi.  She's always available for me, ha!  Alhamdulillah.  Go moms of the world :D

Surah Al-Baqarah 2:263 - 264

  2:263 

قَوْلٌ مَّعْرُ‌وفٌ وَمَغْفِرَ‌ةٌ خَيْرٌ‌ مِّن صَدَقَةٍ يَتْبَعُهَا أَذًى ۗ وَاللَّـهُ غَنِيٌّ حَلِيمٌ

Qawlun Ma`rūfun . Baat achi

Wa Maghfiratun . Aur dar-guzar karna

Khayrun Min Şadaqatin Yatba`uhā' Adháan . Behtar hai uss sadky se, ke us'ke baad ho ezza rasani

Wa  ۗ  Allāhu  . Aur Allah Ta'lla

Ghanīyun Ĥalīmun . Beniyaaz wala, tahumal wala hai (burdbaar)

 Kind speech and forgiveness are better than charity followed by injury.  And Allah is Free of need and Forbearing.

2:264 

  يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تُبْطِلُوا صَدَقَاتِكُم بِالْمَنِّ وَالْأَذَىٰ كَالَّذِي يُنفِقُ مَالَهُ رِ‌ئَاءَ النَّاسِ وَلَا يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّـهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ‌ ۖ فَمَثَلُهُ كَمَثَلِ صَفْوَانٍ عَلَيْهِ تُرَ‌ابٌ فَأَصَابَهُ وَابِلٌ فَتَرَ‌كَهُ صَلْدًا ۖ لَّا يَقْدِرُ‌ونَ عَلَىٰ شَيْءٍ مِّمَّا كَسَبُوا ۗ وَاللَّـهُ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الْكَافِرِ‌ينَ

Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū . Ay logon jo imaan laye ho

Lā Tubţilū . Na zaya karo tum

Şadaqātikum . Apni khairaat

Bil-Manni . Yeh ehsaan jitla kar

Wa Al-'Adhá . Aur sit'ta kar

Kālladhī . Us shaqs ki tarah

Yunfiqu Mālahu . Jo harch karta hai apna maal

Ri'ā'a An-Nāsi . Logon ko dehka'vy ke liye

Wa Lā Yu'uminu . Aur nahi imaan rahkta

Bil-Lahi . Allah Ta'lla par

Wa Al-Yawmi Al-'Ākhiri  ۖ  . Aur na din akhirat par

Famathaluhu . Uski misaal hai

Kamathali Şafwānin . Jaise aik chikna pat'tar

`Alayhi . Uss'par

Turābun . Mitti

Fa'aşābahu . To pohanchey usko

Wa Abilun . Taiz barish

Fatarakahu Şaldāan  ۖ  . To usko chor de saaf aur shifaaf

Lā Yaqdirūna . Nahi woh kudrat rahk'te

`Alá Shay'in Mimmā Kasabū . Us'si cheez par, jo unho ne kamaya

Wa  ۗ  Allāhu . Aur Allah Ta'lla

Lā Yahdī . Nahi hidayat dait'ta

Al-Qawma Al-Kāfirīna . Kafir qawm'on ko

O you who have believed, do not invalidate your charities with reminders or injury as does one who spends his wealth (only) to be seen by the people and does not believe in Allah and the Last Day.  His example is like that of a (large) smooth stone upon which is dust and is hit by a downpour that leaves it bare.  They are unable (to keep) anything of what they have earned.  And Allah does not guide the disbelieving people.

Ayaat 2:260 - 262 The Cow Surah Al-Baqarah

  2:260 

وَإِذْ قَالَ إِبْرَ‌اهِيمُ رَ‌بِّ أَرِ‌نِي كَيْفَ تُحْيِي الْمَوْتَىٰ ۖ قَالَ أَوَلَمْ تُؤْمِن ۖ قَالَ بَلَىٰ وَلَـٰكِن لِّيَطْمَئِنَّ قَلْبِي ۖ قَالَ فَخُذْ أَرْ‌بَعَةً مِّنَ الطَّيْرِ‌ فَصُرْ‌هُنَّ إِلَيْكَ ثُمَّ اجْعَلْ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ جَبَلٍ مِّنْهُنَّ جُزْءًا ثُمَّ ادْعُهُنَّ يَأْتِينَكَ سَعْيًا ۚ وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّ اللَّـهَ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ

 

Wa 'Idh Qāla . Aur jab kaha

'Ibrāhīmu . Ibraheem E.S. ne

Rabbi 'Arinī . Ay mere Rabb dehka mujko

Kayfa . Ke kaise woh

Tuĥyī Al-Mawtá  ۖ  . Zinda karta hai murd'on ko

Qāla 'Awalam . Farmaya Allah Ta'lla ne, kya aur nahi

Tu'umin  ۖ . Tu'ny yakeen kiya

Qāla Balá . Kaha Ibraheem E.S. ne

Wa Lakin Liyaţma'inna . Aur laikin, ta key itminaan ho jaye

Qalbī  ۖ  . Mere dil ko

Ya'tīnaka Sa`yāan  ۚ  . Ayiengey woh tere paas dor'ty huwe

Wa A`lam . Aur jaan le

'Anna Al-Laha . Ke beshak Allah Ta'lla

`Azīzun Ĥakīmun . Ghalib hikmat wala hai

And (mention) when Abraham said, "My Lord, show me how You give life to the dead."  (Allah) said, "Have you not believed?"  He said, "Yes, but (I ask) only that my heart may be satisfied."  (Allah) said, "Take four birds and commit them to yourself. Then (after slaughtering them) put them on each hill a portion of them; then call them - they will come (flying) to you in haste.  And know that Allah is Exalted and Might and Wise."

2:261 

مَّثَلُ الَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ أَمْوَالَهُمْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّـهِ كَمَثَلِ حَبَّةٍ أَنبَتَتْ سَبْعَ سَنَابِلَ فِي كُلِّ سُنبُلَةٍ مِّائَةُ حَبَّةٍ ۗ وَاللَّـهُ يُضَاعِفُ لِمَن يَشَاءُ ۗ وَاللَّـهُ وَاسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ  

 

Mathalu Al-Ladhīna . Misaal un logon ki

Yunfiqūna . Jo harch karte hain

'Amwālahum . Apney maal

Fī Sabīli Al-Lahi . Allah ki rah mein

Kamathali Ĥabbatin . Jaise misaal aik dana ki

'Anbatat . Yeh ug'ien

Sab`a . Saath (7)

Sanābila . Baal'ien

Fī Kulli Sunbulatin . Har baal mein

Miā'atu Ĥabbatin . So (100) dana

Wa  ۗ  Allāhu . Aur Allah Ta'lla

Yuđā`ifu . Yeh bhar'ata hai

Liman Yashā'u . Jiske liye chahta hai

Wa  ۗ  Allāhu . Aur Allah Ta'lla

Wāsi`un `Alīmun . Kasrat wala aur jaan'te wala hai

The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed (of grain) which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains.  And Allah multiplies (His reward) for whom He wills.  And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.

2:262 

لَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ أَمْوَالَهُمْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّـهِ ثُمَّ لَا يُتْبِعُونَ مَا أَنفَقُوا مَنًّا وَلَا أَذًى ۙ لَّهُمْ أَجْرُ‌هُمْ عِندَ رَ‌بِّهِمْ وَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ 

Al-Ladhīna . Woh log

Yunfiqūna . Jo harch karte hain

'Amwālahum . Apney maal

Fī Sabīli Al-Lahi . Allah ki rah mein

Thumma Lā Yutbi`ūna . Phir baad mein nahi rahkte

Mā 'Anfaqū . Jo unho ne harch kiya

Mannāan . Koi ehsaan

Wa Lā 'Adháan  ۙ. Aur na koi taqleef

Lahum . Unke liye

'Ajruhum . Unka aj'r

`Inda Rabbihim . Unke Rabb ke paas

Wa Lā Khawfun . Aur na koi hoga khaauf

`Alayhim . Un par

Wa Lā Hum . Aur na hi woh

Yaĥzanūna . Ghum-geen hongey

Those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah and then do not follow up what they have spent with reminders (of it) or (other) injury will have their reward with their Lord, and there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.  

Surah Al-Baqarah Ayaat 2:259

 

 2:259 

أَوْ كَالَّذِي مَرَّ‌ عَلَىٰ قَرْ‌يَةٍ وَهِيَ خَاوِيَةٌ عَلَىٰ عُرُ‌وشِهَا قَالَ أَنَّىٰ يُحْيِي هَـٰذِهِ اللَّـهُ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا ۖ فَأَمَاتَهُ اللَّـهُ مِائَةَ عَامٍ ثُمَّ بَعَثَهُ ۖ قَالَ كَمْ لَبِثْتَ ۖ قَالَ لَبِثْتُ يَوْمًا أَوْ بَعْضَ يَوْمٍ ۖ قَالَ بَل لَّبِثْتَ مِائَةَ عَامٍ فَانظُرْ‌ إِلَىٰ طَعَامِكَ وَشَرَ‌ابِكَ لَمْ يَتَسَنَّهْ ۖ وَانظُرْ‌ إِلَىٰ حِمَارِ‌كَ وَلِنَجْعَلَكَ آيَةً لِّلنَّاسِ ۖ وَانظُرْ‌ إِلَى الْعِظَامِ كَيْفَ نُنشِزُهَا ثُمَّ نَكْسُوهَا لَحْمًا ۚ فَلَمَّا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُ قَالَ أَعْلَمُ أَنَّ اللَّـهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ‌

'Aw Kālladhī . Yaan us shaqs ki imaanat jo

Marra `Alá Qaryatin . Guz'ra aik basti par

Wa Hiya Khāwiyatun . Aur woh ghir'i par'ri ti

`Alá `Urūshihā . Apni chatt'on par

Qāla 'Anná Yuĥyī . Kaha us'ne ke kyun phir zinda karega

Hadhihi Al-Lahu . Isko Allah Ta'lla

Ba`da Mawtihā  ۖ  . Baad us'ke mar'ney ke

Fa'amātahu Al-Lahu . To usko murda rahka Allah Ta'lla ne

Miā'ata `Āmin . Aik so (1 Hundred) saal

Thumma Ba`athahu  ۖ  . Phir us'se uttaya

Qāla Kam . Kaha us'ne kithni dair

Labithta  ۖ  . Raha

Qāla Labithtu . Kaha us'ne ke woh raha

Yawmāan . Aik din

'Aw Ba`đa Yawmin  ۖ . Yaan din se kuch kamm

Qāla Bal Labithta . Us'ne kaha ke balkey tu raha

Miā'ata `Āmin . Aik so saal (1 hundred)

Fānžur . So dehk

'Ilá Ţa`āmika . Apney kaa'ney ko

Wa Sharābika . Aur apna pee'na

Lam Yatasannah  ۖ  . Ke woh nahi sar gaya

Wa Anžur 'Ilá Ĥimārika . So dehk apney ghad'dy ki taraf

Wa Linaj`alaka . Aur ta'key hum tuj'he bataien

'Āyatan Lilnnāsi  ۖ  . Aik nishaani logon ke liye

Wa Anžur 'Ilá Al-`Ižāmi . Aur dehk taraf had'iyon ki taraf

Kayfa Nunshizuhā . Ke kis tarah hum in'hien jorr'te hain

Thumma Naksūhā Laĥmāan  ۚ . Phir hum is'se bana'te hain gosht

Falammā Tabayyana . So jab vasiye ho gaya

Lahu . Uss par

Qāla 'A`lamu . Kaha us'ne ke main jaan gaya

'Anna Al-Laha . Yeh ke Allah Ta'lla

`Alá Kulli Shay'in Qadīrun . Har cheez par qadir hai

Or (consider such an example) as the one who passed by a township which had fallen into ruin.  He said, "How will Allah bring this to life after its death?"  So Allah caused him to die for a hundred years; then He revived him.  He said, "How long have you remained?"  The man said, "I have remained a day or part of a day." He said, "Rather, you have remained one hundred years.  Look at your food and your drink; it has not changed with time.  And look at your donkey; and We will make you a sign for the people.  And look at the bones (of this donkey) - how We raised them and then We cover them with flesh."  And when it became clear to him, he said, "I know that Allah is over all things competent."  

The Cow. Surah Al-Baqarah 2:257 - 258

  2:257

اللَّـهُ وَلِيُّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا يُخْرِ‌جُهُم مِّنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ‌ ۖ وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُ‌وا أَوْلِيَاؤُهُمُ الطَّاغُوتُ يُخْرِ‌جُونَهُم مِّنَ النُّورِ‌ إِلَى الظُّلُمَاتِ ۗ أُولَـٰئِكَ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ‌ ۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ

Al-Lahu Wa Līyu Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū . Allah Ta'lla madat-gaar hai un logon ke liye, jo imaan laye

Yukhrijuhum Mina Až-Žulumāti . Woh nikaalta hai andhair'on se

'Ilá An-Nūr . Aur roshni ki taraf

Wa  ۖ  Al-Ladhīna Kafarū . Aur woh log jin'ho ne kuf'r kiya

'Awliyā'uuhumu Aţ-Ţāghūtu . Unke saathi hain gumrah karney waley

Yukhrijūnahum Mina An-Nūr . Woh unko nikaal'te hain roshni se

'Ilá Až-Žulumāti  ۗ  . Andhair'on ki taraf

'Ūlā'ika . Woh hi log hain

'Aşĥābu An-Nāri  ۖ  . Jo rehney waley hain aag dauzak mein

Hum Fīhā Khālidūna . Aur woh us'mein hamesha rahiengey

Allah is the ally of those who believe.  He brings them out from darkness into the light.  And those who disbelieve - their allies are taghut.  They take them out of the light into darkness.  Those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide eternally therein. 

2:258 

أَلَمْ تَرَ‌ إِلَى الَّذِي حَاجَّ إِبْرَ‌اهِيمَ فِي رَ‌بِّهِ أَنْ آتَاهُ اللَّـهُ الْمُلْكَ إِذْ قَالَ إِبْرَ‌اهِيمُ رَ‌بِّيَ الَّذِي يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ قَالَ أَنَا أُحْيِي وَأُمِيتُ ۖ قَالَ إِبْرَ‌اهِيمُ فَإِنَّ اللَّـهَ يَأْتِي بِالشَّمْسِ مِنَ الْمَشْرِ‌قِ فَأْتِ بِهَا مِنَ الْمَغْرِ‌بِ فَبُهِتَ الَّذِي كَفَرَ‌ ۗ وَاللَّـهُ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِي

'Alam Tara 'Ilá Al-Ladhī . Kya nahi dehka aapne uss shaqs ko

Ĥājja . Jisne jag'ra kiya

'Ibrāhīma . Ibraheem E.S. se

Fī Rabbihi . Uske Rabb ke baare mein

'An 'Ātāhu Al-Lahu Al-Mulka . Yeh ke di usko Allah Ta'lla ne badsha'hi

'Idh Qāla 'Ibrāhīmu . Jab kaha Ibraheem E.S. ne

Rabbī Al-Ladhī . Mera Rabb woh hai

Yuĥyī Wa Yumītu . Jo zinda karta hai, aur jo maar'ta hai

Qāla 'Anā . Us'ne kaha ke main

'Uĥyī Wa . Khud hi zinda karta hoon

'Umītu  ۖ  . Aur maar'ta hoon

Qāla 'Ibrāhīmu . Kaha Ibraheem E.S. ne

Fa'inna Al-Laha . Beshak Allah Ta'lla

Ya'tī Bish-Shamsi . Le aata suraj ko

Mina Al-Mashriqi . Mashriq se

Fa'ti Bihā . So to le aao usko

Mina Al-Maghribi . Maghirb se

Fabuhita Al-Ladhī Kafara . To woh khairaan reh gaya, jisne kuf'r kiya

Wa  ۗ  Allāhu . Aur Allah Ta'lla

Lā Yahdī Al-Qawma Až-Žālimīna . Nahi hidaayat dait'ta zalim qawm'on ko 

Have you not considered the one who argued with Abraham about his Lord (merely) because Allah had given him kingship?  When Abraham said, "My Lord is the one who gives life and causes death,"  he said, "I give life and cause death."  Abraham said, "Indeed, Allah brings up the sun from the east, so bring it up from the west."  So the disbeliever was overwhelmed (by astonishment), and Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.

 2:255 

  اللَّـهُ لَا إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ ۚ لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ ۚ لَّهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْ‌ضِ ۗ مَن ذَا الَّذِي يَشْفَعُ عِندَهُ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ ۚ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ ۖ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَيْءٍ مِّنْ عِلْمِهِ إِلَّا بِمَا شَاءَ ۚ وَسِعَ كُرْ‌سِيُّهُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْ‌ضَ ۖ وَلَا يَئُودُهُ حِفْظُهُمَا ۚ وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ 

Al-Lahu Lā 'Ilāha 'Illā Huwa .  Allah Ta'lla, nahi hai koi ma'bood siwaye uske

 Al-Ĥayyu Al-Qayyūmu  ۚ  . Zinda hai thaam'ny wala hai

Lā Ta'khudhuhu . Na us'se aati hai

Sinatun . Oongh

Wa Lā Nawmun  ۚ . Aur na neend

Lahu Mā Fī As-Samāwāti . Us'si ke liye jo kuch hai asmaan'on mein

Wa Mā Fī Al-'Arđi  ۗ  . Aur jo kuch hai zameen mein

Man Dhā Al-Ladhī . Kon hai jo

Yashfa`u . Jo sifaarish kare

`Indahu . Us'ke paas

'Illā Bi'idhnihi  ۚ  . Siwaye uski ijaazat ke

Ya`lamu Mā Bayna 'Aydīhim . Woh jaan'ta hai jo kuch hai us'ke samine

Wa Mā Khalfahum  ۖ  . Aur jo hai unke peechey

Wa Lā Yuĥīţūna .  Aur nahi woh ehaata kar sakte

Bishay'in . Kisi cheez ka

Min `Ilmihi . Uske ilm se

'Illā Bimā Shā'a  ۚ  . Magar jithna woh chahey

Wasi`a Kursīyuhu As-Samāwāti . Aur uski kursi ki wusat ny, asmaano se

Wa Al-'Arđa  ۖ  . Aur zameen ke

Wa Lā Ya'ūduhu .  Aur nahi thaka'ti usko

Ĥifžuhumā  ۚ  . Uski hifaazat

Wa Huwa Al-`Alīyu Al-`Ažīmu . Aur woh buland martaba, azma't wala hai

Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of (all)  existence.  Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep.  To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth.  Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission?  He knows what is (presently) before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills.  His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not.  And He is the Most High, the Most Great.

 2:256 

  لَا إِكْرَ‌اهَ فِي الدِّينِ ۖ قَد تَّبَيَّنَ الرُّ‌شْدُ مِنَ الْغَيِّ ۚ فَمَن يَكْفُرْ‌ بِالطَّاغُوتِ وَيُؤْمِن بِاللَّـهِ فَقَدِ اسْتَمْسَكَ بِالْعُرْ‌وَةِ الْوُثْقَىٰ لَا انفِصَامَ لَهَا ۗ وَاللَّـهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ

Lā 'Ikrāha . Nahi hai koi zabardasti

Fī Ad-Dīni  ۖ  . Deen mein

Qad Tabayyana Ar-Rushdu .  Beshak judda ho gayi hidaayat se

Mina Al-Ghayyi  ۚ  . Aur gumraahi se

Faman Yakfur Biţ-Ţāghūti . So jo naa maan'y gumhrah karney waley ko

Wa Yu'umin . Aur imaan laye

Bil-Lahi . Allah Ta'lla ke saath

Faqadi Astamsaka .  To tehkeeq usney thaam liya

Bil-`Urwati Al-Wuthqá . Halka mazbooti se

Lā Anfişāma . Nahi tootna

Lahā . Uske liye

Wa  ۗ  Allāhu  . Aur Allah Ta'lla

Samī`un `Alīmun . Sun'ney wala, jaan'ney wala hai

There shall be no compulsion in (acceptance of) the religion.  The right course has become clear from the wrong.  So whoever disbelieved in taghut and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no break in it.  And Allah is Hearing and Knowing.

 Assalam-o-alaikum Wa Rehmatullahi Wa Baraqatah,

Alhamdulillah.  When children recite their Quran, Kalimas, Namaz, Duas...and Allah Ta'lla gives them this taufeeq, it's one of the most beautiful sound and feeling.  So my dear nieces and nephew, I'm really proud of all of you because I love it when you read your sabak.  And even if sometimes you guys don't feel up to it, *pointy pointy* I know you will the next day.  There is this blissful noor on your cute little faces when you try to recite something, or you just can't remember the last word of a dua and when it clicks...it's just overwhelming.  

 
Hadith - Verily the one who recites the Qur’an beautifully, smoothly, and precisely, he will be in the company of the noble and obedient angels. And as for the one who recites with difficulty, stammering or stumbling through its verses, then he will have TWICE that reward.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Hey Googies and other tiny blood-related kids, who check my blog more then I do.  I know I haven't been updating much lately.  My apologizes.  IT (life) has been busy as you know.  Welcoming a cutest-of-the-cute baby boy in the family.  MashaAllah.  *Darn, I must be # 2 in the cute list now, pfff.*  Just kidding :D

Anyhow, 3/5 of you nieces and I attended the Bear Creek park festival.  It was great, would have been easier if the sun wasn't scorching us.  And if I got some of that lemonade, honestly.  Since the 2/5 of you weren't there...I'm going to add the pictures for you.  Allah hafiz.  

And for F, who requested for instructions of eating a mango.  Ohh, don't squint, you asked for it!   

1. If you must hold a mango, handle with care.  Especially if it's this cute.

2.  Soften.  Pull top off.  God help me if you need help after this, hahaa.

It takes years of practice to eat like this.  And A LOT of pimples on ones face.  Seriously :-)
